How to Service and Repair a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on Ford Focus?

To fix the Transmission Speed Sensor, jack up the vehicle and unscrew the electrical connector of VSS. Unscrew the VSS with retaining pin. Installation of the new VSS is done by positioning and attaching it with the pin. Re-reconnect electrical connector and lower the vehicle.

How to service and repair the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the Output Shaft on Ford Mustang?

To service the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor, lift the vehicle on a hoist in neutral. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor. When installing the new sensor, tighten it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) and then reverse the removal steps to finish the installation.
